The Holy Father, Pope Francis, has this morning appointed the Most Reverend Brendan Kelly, Bishop of Achonry, as the new Bishop of Galway, Kilmacduagh and Kilfenora. CEIST (Catholic Education and Irish Schools Trust) has announced the appointment of Clíona Ní Néill as the first principal of Our Lady’s College, Galway. Ms Ní Néill is a native of Galway City and current principal of Presentation Secondary School, a position she has held since 2006.

An event took place this week to mark the launch of Our Lady’s College, which will officially open its doors in September 2016. This new school represents the union of two well-known Galway educational facilities; Presentation Secondary School and Mercy Newtownsmith.
